About The Dorcas Widows Fund

The Dorcas Widows Fund is a non-profit Christian organization based in the United States that supports the Dorcas Widows Ministry in Kampala, Uganda. The Dorcas Widows Ministry is a support group for widows who have lost their husbands due to the war in Northern Uganda, HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB, or other diseases.

2008 Accomplishments
  • Purchased 2.85 acres of land in Matuga.
  • Raised $30,000 towards the building of a Widows Community.
  • Hired a full-time employee in Uganda to care for the women on a daily basis.
  • Fulfilled 12 orders for beaded jewelry.
  • Sent 14 children back to school.
  • Helped 30 widows pay their house rent.
  • Helped 55 widows feed themselves and their children.
  • Helped 70 widows with their medical treatments.

Help us build homes for our Widows Community in Matuga. Last year we raised $30,000 towards this project. This year our goal is to raise an additional $20,000 by June 1, 2009.
