About The Dorcas Widows Fund

The Dorcas Widows Fund is a non-profit Christian organization based in the United States that supports the Dorcas Widows Ministry in Kampala, Uganda. The Dorcas Widows Ministry is a support group of 80 widows who are supporting over 400 children. The ladies have lost their husbands due to the war in Northern Uganda, HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB, or other diseases.

2009 Accomplishments
  • Sponsored 22 children to attend Primary and Secondary School.
  • Employeed 2 full-time women to care for the widows and children.
  • Fulfilled 16 orders for beaded jewelry - providing over $13,000 of income for the ladies.
  • Provided medical care from two professionals traveling to Uganda.
  • Provided reading glasses for all ladies.
  • Submitted final architectual plans to the Ugandan government for approval.
  • Provided over contributions for emergency rent, food, and medical care.
  • Provided beans and rice for all families for Christmas Dinner.
