Widows Community Fundraiser- Thursday, July 15th, 5:30pm - 7pm

We have exciting news to share with you and an invitation for you to join us for an evening of African Food and Entertainment!

Our Widows Community Plans have been approved by the Ugandan Government and we are ready to start building Phase 1 of the homes in the plan. We will be able to start construction once we are able to raise enough funds to begin. To help kick start this project we are having a fundraiser for you to come and hear about the building project and about the current status of the ladies from Kari Miller herself who will be in town to share the latest news!

We guarantee you will enjoy sampling some of Uganda’s traditional food and entertainment!

Have a Jewelry Party at your home!
A wonderful way to have a fun evening and support this ministry is to host a Dorcas Widows Jewelry Party. At past parties, we were able to raise over $1000 to support the widows and find school sponsors for 3 children. Everyone leaves with unique jewelry for themselves or gifts and knowing that they supported a wonderful cause. We will do all the work, you just provide the space and any refreshments! July 2009 - MN Sun Community Newspaper Article

In July the Dorcas Widows Fund was featured in the Community news section of the MN Sun newspaper in an article written by Jason Kroeker. The article talks about the plans for the Widows Community we intend to build on the land purchased in Matuga. The Widows Community includes housing and garden plots for 30 families and a large community center. In the picture you can see us holding one of the architectural documents for this area.
